Alright, huddle up because we’ve got some big news from the UCF Knights’ camp. QB Dylan Rizk has decided to hit the transfer portal. This dude stepped into the spotlight last season, jumping from the fourth-string to starting QB quicker than you can say “touchdown.”

Rizk took over for the last four games in 2024, and if you caught that Space Game against Arizona, you know what I’m talking about. He went 20 for 25, threw for 294 yards, and tossed three touchdowns like it was nothing. That was UCF’s last hurrah of the season, by the way. But after that high, things got a bit rocky. His numbers dipped, and he had a rough patch: 45 completions out of 81 attempts, a single TD, and two interceptions in three games. Still almost took down Arizona State, but a pick-six tripped him up.

Despite showing some promise, it seems new UCF head coach Scott Frost and QB coach McKenzie Milton have different ideas for next season. With imports like Tayven Jackson and Cam Fancher contesting for the QB slot and Jacurri Brown still in the mix, Rizk is heading out to find greener pastures.

Now, where does that leave UCF’s quarterback situation? Let me break it down for you:

Jacurri Brown: Sticking with UCF, played in nine games with mixed results. Still, he’s been under the lights before.
Tayven Jackson: Transferred from Indiana, has solid accuracy and a few rushing touchdowns on his resume.
Cam Fancher: The seasoned one here, with a wealth of game-time experience and a quarterback who’s moved around—FAU then Marshall.

Brock Hansel’s there too, but he’s not seen much action beyond practice fields. So, it’s a three-way battle royale for that starting spot.

Could UCF dive into the transfer portal again to add depth? Possibly. For now, though, it’s open season for these guys to prove they deserve the starting nod.

And, hey, while we’re chatting about UCF, make sure to catch up on their basketball stuff—like that blockbuster against Nebraska which pulled in a crowd of over 800,000 on Fox. Never a dull moment in Knight Nation, my friends.

let’s get connected
