So, scoop of the day: TJ Simpkins, Elon’s basketball star, just made his next big move—he’s transferring to Seton Hall! He dropped the news on social media, doing it like all proper announcements go down these days.

Let’s rewind. Simpkins—he’s been the heartbeat of Elon’s offense. Average 14.6 points per game, snagging rebounds, dishing assists, and stealing the ball like it’s his side hustle. He landed a cool 45 steals last season, leading the team. Oh, and don’t forget his show-stopping games against North Carolina and Notre Dame, where he put up 18 and 16 points, respectively. Not just any ole’ performances, folks.

TJ’s saga at Elon is short but sweet—just a single year there after jumping ship from Northwest Florida State College. Now, with him bouncing to Seton Hall, Elon’s lineup is looking a bit thin. They’re already down three starters, with his brother TK earlier heading to the University of Oregon (family road trips just got a whole lot more interesting).

Meanwhile, Seton Hall, bless them, didn’t have the best season, sitting at 7-25 in the Big East and finishing with more Ls than you’d find in a dictionary. They’ve seen the NCAA Tournament 14 times but haven’t had their dance card punched since 2022. Here’s hoping TJ can bring some much-needed spark to the Pirates.

And in case you were wondering, Elon’s keeping tight-lipped on the whole thing—no comments from the athletics department just yet.

Stay tuned, because it’ll be interesting to see how Simpkins shakes up the scene at Seton Hall and whether they can turn their recent dry spell around with their new recruit. Fingers crossed!
